The Invisible Ladder
Paris, Galerie Eric Dupont
November 14th, 2024 - January 18th, 2025
Through The Invisible Ladder, Keziah Jones shares his deeply personal journey of reconciliation and creation, inviting us into a world where art becomes a bridge between the visible and the invisible, sound and silence, self and society.
Keziah Jones, celebrated musician and multifaceted artist, unveils his visual creations with The Invisible Ladder. Born from over two decades of introspection and personal exploration, these works transcend their origins as private sketches to take their rightful place in the public eye. The collection embodies Keziah’s fluid identity and artistic duality, shaped by his Yoruba roots in Lagos, his formative years in London, and his current residence in Paris.
The drawings, vibrant with life and truth, stem from an inner necessity—a term borrowed from Kandinsky—reflecting a compulsion to create when words and melodies are insufficient. Each piece emerges from the tension between silence and expression, blurring the lines between music and visual art. In this sanctuary of drawing, Keziah channels a profound energy that echoes his musical compositions, with lines unfolding into rhythms and shapes transforming into visual harmonies.
